Adapt common OE and aftermarket parts to the Chevette
An extremely common upgrade for the Chevette is the S10 Differential Swap. As far as major suspension modification goes, it "drops right in", and will hold v8 power with a plethora of gear options and LSD / Spools available. Well, now you've got a 5 lug rear end, and a 4 lug front end.
Enter the 5-lug conversion.
What you need: Our kit expects unmodified stock spindles on the front end of a Chevette of any year or Fieros from 84-87.
These lightweight, CNC machined aluminum brackets allow you to use GM “D154” (S10) brake calipers. We make these to order in Ohio. Spacer washers included.
These were used on a large selection of midsized GM cars and small trucks from 1978-2002. They are so common, you can get them for about $28 any day of the week. If you need to get extreme, Wilwood makes aluminum ones that weigh far less, come in 24 colors, and come in single and dual piston. These mounting brackets open a massive aftermarket of parts, and are a significant upgrade to the stock brake system.
The GM 10.5 Metric rotor is a hub-integrated, 5 lug rotor that is readily available, and a perfect fit. The 5x120.65mm (5x4.75") pattern gives you a huge selection of wheels.
You can make all that easier with a Caliper/Pad/Rotor kit. We like the PowerStop KCOE1482 Kit.
The Timkin SET2 bearing works great for an outer, with a small sleeve pressed in to fit the spindle.
The Timkin SET30 bearing is perfect for an inner, with a chamfer cut so it fits the spindle correctly.
We can make these modifications so they just drop in place for you.
We like our rotors attached to our spindle, so you'll want:
We are working on a reliable source of the rare castle nut the Chevette uses, currently we reuse the existing ones.

The flexible brake lines from a G-body are nearly perfect for this setup, but we've found them a bit short. We found a vendor that sells extended (+4") lines for lowriders/hydraulic setups. Perfect for this application! They are fantastic quality and availble in a ton of colors if black is too boring for you.
